Jacob Gerald Spangler was born 15 May 1906 at Spanglers Mill, Lower Allen Township, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. He parents were George Curtis Spangler and Kate Elizabeth Harlacher. He became a Merchant Marine. He met Helen Albertina Anderson in Galveston. They were married on 30 May 1930 at Sacred Heart Church, Galveston, Galveston County, Texas. She was the daughter of Albert Eugene Anderson and Mary Josephine Keane, born on 12 Dec 1907 in Galveston. They moved to Pennsylvania. Gerald died on 23 Sep 1975 in Philadelphia.
Helen moved to New Jersey and then to California where she died on 20 Mar 1994 in Escondido, San Diego, California.
